LOSTOCKERS Tom Grundy and Samantha Sale made trip up the M6 to Braithwaite in the Lake District on Saturday to compete in the Coledale Horseshoe fell race and performed well.
The sun blazed down as the runners lined up at the start, making for a very hot day to race.
As the start horn blew, the runners charged up the field before heading through the village and up the mammoth climb of Grizedale Pike.
From there it is a quick descent before the climb up Crag Hill, before an undulating run up and over Sail then the last ascent up Barrow.
This is where Grundy passed Sale as they both took an early line through the heather.
As they clambered up Barrow, Sale passed Grundy but he quickly overtook her again and then it was a race downhill to the finish which saw Grundy clock 1hr 55mins 19secs and cross the line first for Lostock with Sale following just three seconds later.
Rachel Stevens and Johanna McManus had another Sunday outing, this time venturing to Liverpool to take place in the BTR 10 miler.
Starting in the city centre and running out to Sefton before turning and heading back, the sunny weather made for hot running conditions.
But McManus ran a fantastic race, finishing second FV40 with Stevens following her home on the day.
