LOSTOCK duo James Jackson and Ray Nuttall tackled one of the oldest fell races on the race calendar - the Rivington Pike fell race - on Easter Saturday.
The pair ran the race that saw the ladies’ record broken after standing for 35 years.
Starting on Lever Park Avenue, the race takes the runners down to Rivington and Blackrod High School before taking the steep climb up the side of the school and through the farmers fields before the final sharp climb to the top of Rivington Pike.
Then, it is a turn for home and it is brakes off for the fast descent back down the hill and along the road to the finish line.
Both Lostock men ran a fantastic race and Nuttall made it a family affair as he crossed the line hand in had with his granddaughter (25mins 39secs) with Jackson following in 27:59.
Meanwhile, the following day, on Easter Sunday, Johanna McManus travelled to Hale Village to compete in the five-mile race which she completed in an impressive 37:14.
