TODAY marks 10 years since Wanderers were relegated from the Premier League following a 2-2 draw at Stoke, but what happened to the XI that started against the Potters?

Adam Bogdan

Arrived at the UniBol in 2007 and went on to make over 100 appearances for Wanderers before joining Liverpool in 2015.

Also had spells at Wigan and Hibernian and now plays for Hungarian side Ferencvaros, having featured in a Europa League tie against Celtic earlier this season.

Tim Ream

Joined the Whites from New York Red Bulls in January 2012 and spent two-and-a-half years in the North West.

Made the move to Fulham in 2015 and still plays for the London club, having made 48 appearances this season as Marco Silva’s side clinched the Championship title.

Zat Knight

Made over 150 appearances during a five-year spell at Wanderers after joining from Aston Villa for a £4.5million fee.

Left the club in the summer of 2014 and called time on his playing career a year later following a stint at Reading.

Sam Ricketts

Spent four years at the UniBol and also had spells at Hull and Wolves among others before hanging up his boots in in 2016 due to injury.

Transitioned to management and had spells with Wrexham and most recently Shrewsbury but is currently taking a break from the game.

Returned to the UniBol earlier this season to represent a legends team managed by Sam Allardyce for Gethin Jones’ MND appeal.

Dedryck Boyata

Spent a season on loan at Wanderers from Manchester City and went on to make 17 appearances for the Whites.

Has since had spells at FC Twente and Celtic and now plays for Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin, having made 28 appearances this term.

Chris Eagles

Followed then-manager Owen Coyle from Burnley to Bolton and spent three years at the UniBol before he was released in 2014.

Went on to have stints at Blackpool and Oldham among others before hanging up his boots, and also turned out for Jones’ MND appeal.

Martin Petrov

Joined Wanderers in the summer of 2010 after leaving Manchester City and went on to make over 50 appearances for the club.

Later played abroad with Espanyol and CSKA Sofia and also made the headlines when he turned out for Sunday League side Torpedo Chorlton.

Mark Davies

Arrived at the UniBol in January 2009 and went on to spend seven-and-a-half years in the North West.

However, his career was impacted by injuries and he retired after leaving the Whites in 2017, most recently working in property development.

Nigel Reo-Coker

Was a regular starter during his only season at Wanderers but opted to leave the club following their relegation.

Later had spells with Ipswich and MK Dons as well as spending time abroad, and now often works as a pundit.

Kevin Davies

A popular figure among Bolton fans, Davies spent over half of his career at the UniBol and racked up over 350 appearances.

He left the Whites in 2013 and retired two years later following a spell at Preston. Now works as an agent and played a big role in recruiting past stars for Jones’ MND appeal.

Ivan Klasnic

Spent three years at Wanderers after joining initially on loan from French club Nantes, becoming Gary Megson’s final signing.

Retired in 2013 after a short stint with FSV Mainz was awarded just over £3.6million in damages in 2020 following a decade-long legal battle with former club Werder Bremen.
