HARRY Brockbank has parted company with US side El Paso Locomotive, it has been announced.

The club confirmed last night that the Bolton-born defender has “mutually agreed” to leave after making 12 appearances in the USL Championship and US Open Cup.

Brockbank cancelled the remainder of his contract at Wanderers in January to make a new start in America, ending an association with the club that stretched back 16 years.

Although El Paso made a shaky start to the season, he scored against San Diego Loyal and Las Vegas Lights – the latter coming in his first full start.

Primarily playing as a right-back, he has featured quite frequently for Locomotive, playing his last game in a 1-0 defeat to Pittsburgh Riverhounds on May 15.

Brockbank cut his teeth in a loan spell with Salford City in 2019, making his Bolton debut in a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa in the Championship the same year.

The following season he captained the club during stormy times in administration, leading out Wanderers’ youngest-ever side to earn a 0-0 draw against Coventry City.

Injuries restricted him to just eight appearances that season but he returned to play a bigger role in Bolton’s promotion from League Two under Ian Evatt, featuring 19 times and proving his versatility across the back line.

After a difficult start to last season, injuries again hampered his chances and his final Bolton appearance came in the 2-1 defeat at Rotherham United on New Year’s Day.

Brockbank played 37 times in total for the Whites.
