Former Wanderers defender Mark Beevers is reportedly set to join Australian A-League side Perth Glory.

The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after cancelling his contract at Peterborough by mutual consent.

He is now set to head overseas for the first time in his career, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Beevers joined the Whites in the summer of 2016 and went on to make 132 appearances during a three-year spell with the club.

The defender was an almost ever-present figure during the 2016/17 campaign as Wanderers won promotion to the Championship under Phil Parkinson.

He left the club in 2019 at the end of his contract and went on to captain Peterborough to promotion from League One in 2020/21.

Beevers made 15 appearances last term as Posh were relegated back to the third tier after a difficult campaign.

The defender could now come up against several former Bolton team-mates who also made the move to the A-League.

Zach Clough is currently playing for Adelaide United, while Craig Noone and Adam Le Fondre are at Macarthur and Sydney respectively.

Daniel Sturridge also had a stint at Perth Glory last season but played just six times as his back luck with injuries continued.

Perth finished bottom of the 12-team table last term, winning just four of their 26 league matches in total.
