Wanderers will kick off the 2022/23 League One season with a trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town on Saturday, July 30.

Ian Evatt’s men recorded an emphatic 5-2 victory in the fixture last term thanks to goals from Eoin Doyle, Josh Sheehan, George Johnston and a Dapo Afolayan brace.

The Whites host Derby County on Boxing Day following the Rams’ relegation from the Championship.

The sides haven’t met at the UniBol since September 2018 when Craig Noone was on target in a narrow 1-0 victory.

Wanderers make the trip across the Pennines to Oakwell Stadium to face Barnsley on New Year’s Day - another side who were relegated to the third tier last season.

The Whites head to Exeter on Friday, April 7 before hosting Cambridge three days later over the Easter weekend.

And Evatt's men end the campaign with a trip to Bristol Rovers, who were promoted from League Two on the final day in dramatic fashion.

Bolton ran out 2-0 winners on their last trip to the Memorial Stadium, with Luke Murphy and Daryl Murphy on target either side of half-time.

Other notable away trips include MK Dons on Tuesday, September 13, Portsmouth on Saturday, September 24, Derby on Saturday, January 21 and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, March 18.
