Former Wanderers wing-back Peter Kioso has joined Rotherham United on a three-year deal.

Kioso joined the Whites on loan from Luton in 2020 and went on to make 14 appearances before he was recalled by his parent club.

The 22-year-old also spent time on loan at MK Dons last season before returning to Kenilworth Road to help the Hatters finish sixth in the Championship.

The Millers have paid an undisclosed fee to land the wing-back following their promotion from League One.

Kioso is excited to get started at his new club and says manager Paul Warne played a big part in the move.

“The gaffer gave me a call while I was on holiday. He said how interested they were and after speaking to him I was sold straight away,” he told the club’s website.

“He explained how important the ‘together’ mentality was at the club and how hard the team works, and how we wants to do something special this year. I just wanted to be a part of that.”

Kioso also had spells in non-league with Dunstable Town and Hartlepool United prior to his move to the UniBol.

The wing-back is hopeful that he will be a good fit at Rotherham and keen to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

He added: “I played against Rotherham when I was at MK (Dons). We lost 3-0 and I remember going to the changing rooms thinking, ‘that’s the hardest game I’ve played in a very long time’, just because of how hard the boys worked and how physical they were.

“That is how my game is – quite physical and I love to work hard. I think I can help the team build on what we already have, which is a great togetherness, and hopefully a get few goals and clean sheets.”
