NEW Wanderers B Team striker Gerald Sithole hopes he will quickly earn a chance to play in front of a packed house at the University of Bolton Stadium again.

The promising attacker, signed on a free transfer after his release at Gillingham, featured in a 2-2 draw against the Whites in League One last season.

While his short-term future will be in the B Team, managed by Matt Craddock, the 19-year-old hopes his move to Lancashire can quickly lead to more senior games.

"I thought it would be a new challenge for me to come up north and test myself and keep learning and getting better," he said.

"You want to experience something new in your career so hopefully I'm able to do that here.

"It's a fantastic stadium to play in. I remember the atmosphere from playing here last season so hopefully I can transition from the B team to the first team as quickly as possible.

"Everyone wants to do their best and everyone wants to play first-team football. I've had a taste of it, so I'm eager to get back into that.

"It made a little easier for me as well, staying in League One.

"I know what it's about, so hopefully if I get that chance I'm more aware and can improve even quicker."

Sithole played 22 times for Gillingham last season, scoring once, and according to reports in Zimbabwe has recently applied for a passport which would allow him to play for the African nation.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have confirmed they will play a behind-closed-doors game against Watford on July 12 at the Championship club's Colney training base.

Ian Evatt's side will start their pre-season campaign at Longridge Town on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off).

Admission at the Recycling Lives Ground will be pay on the gate with prices: Adults: £10, Concessions: £7, Youths (12-18): £5, and Juniors: £2.

Gates will open at 6pm.
