Ipswich have brought in Leeds full-back Leif Davis for an undisclosed fee ahead of Saturday’s League One opener against Wanderers.

The 22-year-old, who came through the ranks at Morecambe, has put pen to paper over a three-year contract at Portman Road.

Davis joined Leeds in the summer of 2018 and made his first-team debut in a 3-2 win against Aston Villa.

The defender also spent time on loan at Bournemouth last season, making 15 appearances as the Cherries won promotion from the Championship.

"I am delighted to be here," he told the club’s website. "This is the best step for me at this point in my career.

"I want to play games and help the team in any way I can. I'll always give it my all when I am out on the pitch and I can't wait to meet the fans at Portman Road."

Davis becomes the club’s sixth signing of the summer as they aim to build on last season’s 11th-place finish.

The likes of Marcus Harness, Freddie Ladapo and Dominic Ball have also made the move to Portman Road ahead of the new season.

Manager Kieran McKenna added: "We're really happy to have Leif with us. This is one the club has worked hard on this summer.

"He is a player that fits the bill of what we want. He is young, hungry, athletic and technically very good.

"Leif has played games in pre-season and we are hoping he will be ready to make an impact early on.

“He'll get plenty of support from the staff and fanbase, and I know everyone will be excited to see him play."
