Ian Evatt has confirmed that Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns for Saturday’s clash with Wycombe at the UniBol.

The Chairboys narrowly missed out on promotion last season, losing out against Sunderland in the play-off final at Wembley.

Evatt also says Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove could be involved for the B Team in the next couple of weeks.

“Josh and Lloyd are another week closer to playing,” said the Bolton chief. “If there was a B Team fixture next week, they would have taken part in that.

“But there is a game the following week so that is probably where they will be blooded back into action.

“Every game offers something completely different and we are fortunate enough at the moment to have different players with different attributes to deal with different teams.

“That will be the case moving forwards. Wycombe provide a completely different challenge to what Ipswich did so that team will most likely be different.”

Sheehan and Isgrove’s returns will add depth to an already strong squad and Evatt hopes competition will continue to push his players to improve.

He added: “We are going to have people who are disappointed, but as long as they channel that disappointment in the right way there will be no issues.

“There are no favourites here – everybody has an opportunity every day to impress me and get themselves in the team.

“We have got a good group of players who we feel are all capable of making a significant contribution this season.

“It is down to them to make sure they have the impact that their talent suggests they should.”

Wanderers are still being careful with Eoin Toal, who is dealing with a minor ankle injury following his move from Derry City.

“We need to be really cautious with Eoin,” the manager explained. “He’s obviously had this ankle issue, but also the way we train and how difficult and intense it is, you have to build the tolerance to that.

“He’s come from a place which does not train or play the way that we do and his body isn’t used to it, so we have to almost build up that tolerance and robustness to be able to cope so we have to be a little bit patient with him and give him some time.

“He’s not ready to be involved yet. (It is) not just the level but the identity of the club you’re coming from.

“If you’re used to playing a certain way and then you get thrown into a team that is front foot, high press and really intense every minute of every day, it takes time to get used to. So we’re going to give him that time.”
