It will not be long before Westhoughton can be crowned Bolton Cricket League champions.

In their latest win, Astlkey Bridge batted first and Lesiba Ngoepe made 36 as they slumped to 95 all out, Kamran Younas (5-28) and Ayaz Tasawar (3-25) the pick of the bowling.

Westhoughton then cruised to a nine-wicket victory with Matty Morris hitting a half-century.

Farnworth Social Circle remain in second place. Ben Hamilton (67) and Ryan Ayres (89) put on a century partnership as they reached 227-8.

Okbert Erasmus took 4-63 for Horwich, then provided 81 of their runs as they finished 190 all out.

Ross Sutton, with 78, and Melinda Siriwardana (42) provided the backbone for Farnworth’s 193, Tush De Zoysa taking 4-50 for Blackrod.

Sutton then took 7-35, one wicket better than his haul last week, and Siriwardana 3-22, with only Zac Burton providing much resistance with 39 out of Blackrod’s 94 all out.

Atherton and Lostock have each won three out of four matches in the Association division, Atherton one point ahead courtesy of a bonus point.

On Saturday, Atherton totalled 167 with Saif Ur Rehman (47) and Rhys Webb (44) falling one short of their century partnership, having taken the side to 113-2 at one stage.

Harvey Seigne took 6-66 for Eagley who ended the game 15 runs short despite Asif Hussain’s 64, with Daniel Hughes taking 4-33 and Zain Abbas 3-43.

Abel Mokhuane opened the batting for Kearsley and smashed 86 off 58 deliveries, all but 20 of these coming from boundaries.

Aneeq Hassan took 5-35 for Little Lever, with Kearsley’s middle order losing four wickets for one run.

Nipun Gaikwad’s 37 helped take Lever to 78-1, but although Adam Carter contributed a further 35 they still fell 36 adrift as Yashoda Lanka took 6-32.

Little Hulton’s late middle-order batsmen, Salman Younis (60), and Arslan Javad (77) took them to the biggest score of the day of 274-6, Abdullah Ishaq taking 3-46 for Tonge.

Chetan Bisht’s 120 was not enough to take Tonge to victory as they were dismissed for 241.

Adnan Mufti scored a half-century in Walkden’s 147, with Robbie Holgate taking 5-40 for Lostock and Adam Syddall 3-31.

Syddall then top scored with 33 in Lostock’s five-wicket victory, Harry Morgan taking 3-59 for Walkden.

On Sunday, in the T20 area finals, Jameel Stuart smashed 84 from 44 balls, and Ryan Ayres contributed 76 as Farnworth Social Circle made 188-1 against Clifton.

Clifton were 40-0 but ended the match 100 runs behind Circle, with Stuart taking 4-14 and Lancashire Under-14 player, Bradley Barrow, 3-12. Gareth Cross was top scorer for Clifton with 35.

In the final, Netherfield made 168, but Circle ended 60 short, losing their last five wickets for five runs, Stuart having top scored with 35.

This Sunday, Westhoughton face Astley Bridge in the Hamer Cup final at Farnworth.
