LOSTOCK AC members were out and about braving the warm conditions last week at a host of events.

Last Wednesday, lone Lostocker Samantha Sale made the short trip to Rossendale to compete in the Whittle Pike fell race.

It is a short, tough, rough 5.5-mile course that they say if you aren’t going up or down you’ve gone wrong.

Sale finished in a respectable second V45.

On Sunday, it was the Windmill Half Marathon at Lytham St Annes organised by Fylde Coast Runners.

A fast and flat course around the coastal front of Lytham St Annes and Fairhaven, this popular half marathon is great for runners of all abilities and ages.

The route is a two-lap course with multiple water stations on route, fully marshalled and with an amazing medal at the finish line.

Hazel Hatfield was the 11th female to cross the finish line in a remarkable 1hr 46mins and was first in her age category.

Johanna McManus also had an amazing race, crossing the finish line in 1:48 and was the 14th female and second in her age category.

McManus and Rachel Stevens travelled to Cheshire to take part in the Chase the Sun 10k - a fast, undulating 10k set in the beautiful Tatton Park which sees competitors battle around the course to get to the finish line before the sun goes down.

McManus finished in a brilliant 47:55 and was first V40 with Stevens following in 58:08.

On Tuesday, Lostock members Suleman Badat and McManus made the journey to race the Radcliffe Mile.

On a warm evening, both ran brilliantly with Badat finishing in 5:16 and McManus clocking 6:49.
