Wanderers will welcome Premier League side Aston Villa to the UniBol in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Ian Evatt’s men overcame League Two side Salford City in the opening round last night after an impressive display at the UniBol.

Elias Kachunga, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Kieran Sadlier, Conor Bradley and Dapo Afolayan were all on target in an emphatic 5-1 victory against the Ammies.

However, Wanderers did finish the game with 10 men after George Thomason was given his marching orders for a challenge on Luke Bolton.

The Whites' last match against Villa was a 2-0 defeat in April 2019. Jack Grealish and Tammy Abraham were on target that day as Bolton were relegated from the Championship.

All second-round fixtures are scheduled to take place during the week commencing Monday, August 22.
