WANDERERS (3-5-2)

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

Had a quiet night on shot-stopping but did terrorise the late-night shoppers in Middlebrook with one gigantic clearance out of the ground. Kept calm, and it spread.

GETHIN JONES…6.5.

Nice and solid, restricting the pacy Gnahoua to very little on the night. Played a captain’s role, and his organisation was acknowledged after the game by Conor Bradley.

WILL AIMSON…8.

Seized his opportunity with both hands. Made some timely interventions, used the ball sensibly and made a nuisance of himself at set pieces.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…6.5.

Not his busiest night, defensively, but coped comfortably. Used that superb switch pass a couple of times early on to set Bradley away.

CONOR BRADLEY…8.

Don’t tell Liverpool… But he is actually pretty good. Hunted the ball down and just kept on surging forward, creating problems for the visitors. And he scored the winner!

AARON MORLEY…7.

Sat deepest of the midfield three at the start and was able to use that quarter-back passing style to great effect. Looks to be loving it at Bolton.

KIERAN LEE…6.5.

Always in the thick of the action but had very little room to manoeuvre against a stubborn Morecambe back line. Hardly wasted a pass.

KYLE DEMPSEY…7.5.

Relentless running and chasing, constantly forcing defenders to make decisions on the ball. Like Lee, was penned in at times, but never let up.

DECLAN JOHN…6.5.

Looked much more like his old self after illness and gave Wanderers some good width on the left, getting into the penalty box time and time again.

JON DADI BODVARSSON…6.

Got an assist for Bradley but didn’t see as much of the ball as he would have liked, spending his time trying to create space for others.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…6.5.

Buzzed around trying to make something happen for Bolton and came close to getting on the end of a couple of good crosses.

Subs: Afolayan 72 (for Kachunga) – Hacked down a few times around the penalty box.

Bakayoko 72 (for Bodvarsson) – Missed a big chance at the end, but bright.

Williams 82 (for Lee) - Added some extra insurance.

Sadlier 89 (for Dempsey) – Unlucky to get such a short cameo.

Not used: Dixon, Williams, Iredale, Khumbeni.

Morecambe: Ripley, Love, Melbourne, Gibson, Rawson, Delaney, Hunter, Gnahoua, Weir, Bedeau, Obika.

Subs: Taylor 59 (for Melbourne), Connolly 72 (for Obika), Fane 83 (for Gnahoua)

Not used: Smith, Watts, McLoughlin, O’Connor.

Referee: Anthony Backhouse 7/10 – No major complaints, which is refreshing. Although, unlike Ross Joyce on Saturday, he had no radio communication with his fourth official. How odd that two League One games should take such different approaches?

Attendance: 17,165
