Wanderers continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 1-0 win against Morecambe at the UniBol.

Conor Bradley got the decisive goal six minutes before the break - his first league goal since joining on loan from Liverpool.

The Whites have now picked up eight points from their opening four matches in League One despite a tricky start on paper.

Bradley continues to shine

Bradley couldn’t have imagined a better start to his Bolton career after leaving Liverpool for League One football.

It seems like the Northern Ireland international can do no wrong at the minute and he continued his strong form, slotting past Connor Ripley six minutes before the break.

He gives defenders nightmares when running with the ball at his feet and isn’t afraid to put in a tackle at the other end of the pitch.

If Bradley can maintain his terrific performances of late, the youngster will have a big impact for Wanderers over the coming weeks and months.

Aimson slots in seamlessly

Losing captain Ricardo Santos to suspension was always going to be a blow for the Whites, but Will Aimson delivered a fantastic performance in his absence.

The former Plymouth defender dealt emphatically with the threat posed by Morecambe’s direct approach.

Aimson also impressed after coming on at Port Vale over the weekend and Evatt has admitted he was unlucky to start the season on the bench.

With summer signing Eoin Toal also still to join the fold, Wanderers certainly have strength in depth at the back.

Changes pay off

Evatt made the bold decision to make five changes from the side that drew with Port Vale over the weekend, albeit one was enforced.

The Bolton boss has made it clear he trusts all of his players to deliver when called upon, and those who came into the side did not let him down.

The players left out of the starting line-up will benefit after a demanding second half in the blazing heat at Vale Park.

And Evatt will be hopeful that the changes also have a positive impact heading into Saturday’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday, who are expected to be up there come the end of the season.

Evatt’s selection headaches

Picking the line-up must continue to get even harder for the Bolton chief, but he has said before that it is a good problem to have.

Kyle Dempsey continues to impress in midfield despite playing in a slightly deeper role against the Shrimps.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Elias Kachunga also did their chances no harm, asking plenty of questions of the Morecambe backline.

And with Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove now back in action for the B Team, as well as Dion Charles and Toal still to come back from injury, the squad keeps getting stronger.
