B Team pair Finlay Lockett and Arran Pettifer have extended their loans at Atherton Colls until the end of October.

The duo initially joined the Northern Premier League top-flight club a month ago and have made six appearances each so far.

They have also been involved for the Whites’ newly-launched B Team during the early weeks of the Central League campaign.

Colls said they were pleased to extend the loan deals for both young players in a statement on their website.

Lockett became the second-youngest player in the Whites’ history when he came off the bench in the 0-0 draw against Coventry City in 2019.

The young forward returned from a cruciate ligament injury last season after spending the best part of a year on the sidelines.

He has made five senior appearances in total and had been tipped to make an impact on the first-team scene prior to the injury.

Meanwhile, Pettifer made two first-team appearances last season in the Papa John’s Trophy matches against Fleetwood and Liverpool Under-21s.

The young midfielder signed his first professional contract at the UniBol over the summer after completing a two-year scholarship.

Colls are currently 15th in the league table, having picked up 12 points from their opening nine matches so far.

Brad Cooke’s side were held to a goalless draw against South Shields over the weekend and are back in action on Tuesday night when they head to Marine.

B Team wideman Matty Grivosti also had a loan spell earlier this season, spending time at National League outfit Yeovil Town.
