IAN Evatt says Kieran Sadlier has not kicked up a fuss over his lack of game time in League One.

Despite scoring in each of his three starts in the cup competitions, former Rotherham United playmaker Sadlier has otherwise played a total 63 minutes of football this season.

Evatt says the 28-year-old has continued to work hard as he waits for an opportunity but has not felt compelled to knock on his office door for a specific explanation.

“I haven’t had to have any discussions with him because he understands,” said the Bolton boss.

“They all understand. There is nothing personal going on here, I am just trying to pick the right team for the right occasion.

“Sometimes I will get it right, sometimes I will get it wrong and that’s down to me and I will take it on the chin.”

Evatt has rotated his squad regularly and asked any players not involved in his starting line-up to stay supportive of those whose name has been included on the team-sheet.

“They all understand that they need to be a good team-mate and I will treat them how they treat the team, it’s as simple as that,” he said.

“They have all got a great attitude, there are no issues at all from any of them, they understand our end goal and end game and what it takes to get there.

“They have all really bought into that and I’m really enjoying working with them every day.”
