WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…7.

Always switched on. Made a fine save in the first half, albeit that the linesman raised his flag, then ad nothing to do until stoppage time when his reactions were again razor sharp.

GETHIN JONES…6.5.

Didn’t have a huge amount of defending to do but got forward in tandem with Bradley more in the second half and put in some good crosses.

RICARDO SANTOS…6.5.

Had a couple of one-on-one tests with Ben House and Jack Diamond, which he passed confidently. Went close with a header too!

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.5.

Set the tone for the day with a rattling challenge on halfway. Lincoln hardly made a dent but that was because Johnston was in no mood to let them.

CONOR BRADLEY…6.5.

The Imps sat so deep, space was limited. So, while we didn’t see too much of his attacking side, Bradley also showed he can defend in a team shape and be disciplined.

MJ WILLIAMS…8.

Easy to overlook how important he is to the team until you review how many of the second balls, half-challenges and pressure-relieving passes he completes.

GEORGE THOMASON…7.

That engine never stops. Always on the move, whether it is supporting an attack or getting back to protect his own goal. Improving at a rapid pace.

JACK IREDALE…6.5.

Like Bradley, has to get creative to puncture Lincoln’s defensive skin, but he put in a handful of good crosses and defended competently.

KIERAN LEE…6.5.

Unusually for him, made a couple of poor choices on the ball closer to goal, but that was nit-picking in a midfield he controlled for almost the whole game.

DION CHARLES…8.

Leave aside the penalty, which put him on five for the season, Charles’s work-rate was off the chart. Never gave the Lincoln back line a moment’s rest.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…7.

Had Kacha converted one of a couple of presentable chances, he would have been challenging for MOM. As it happened, his hard work did not go unnoticed.

Subs: Dempsey 6, 68 (for Lee), Bodvarsson 73 (for Kachunga), Afolayan 82 (for Charles).

Not used: Sadlier, Bakayoko, Aimson, Morley.

Lincoln (3-4-3): Rushworth; Jackson, O’Connor, Poole; Eyoma, Virtue, Sorensen, Roughan; Garrick, House, Diamond.

Subs: Mandriou 65 (for Garrick), Sanders 65 (for Sorensen), Oakley-Boothe 78 (for House).

Not used: Oakley-Boothe, Robson, Wright, Gallagher.

Referee: Neil Hair 7/10 – A one-time foe, perhaps, but how refreshing to see proper communication between officials to find the right decision for the first half penalty award. Should Bolton have had a second? Perhaps. Lincoln also had a good shout.
