Wanderers wideman Lloyd Isgrove is set to be in action as the B Team take on Blackpool in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

The fixture takes place at Bamber Bridge’s Sir Tom Finney Stadium (KO 1pm) and admission is free for spectators.

Isgrove made his first-team comeback in the 2-2 draw against Tranmere Rovers in the Papa Johns Trophy before the international break.

The former Southampton youngster had been out of action since last November due to a string of bad injury luck.

He made a big impact at Prenton Park after coming off the bench for the final half an hour but was unable to beat Mateusz Hewelt from the spot as the Whites lost the penalty shootout.

Isgrove also featured for Wanderers’ B Team in the Central League fixtures against Fleetwood Town and Blackpool earlier this season along with team-mate Josh Sheehan, who was also coming back from a spell out of action.

Matt Craddock’s side have played a couple of friendlies behind closed doors in recent weeks, including a 1-0 win against Salford City thanks to Gez Sithole’s thumping free-kick from 25 yards.

Speaking last week, Ian Evatt said he was pleased with the progress the B Team players have since the start of the campaign.

“I think they have got a long way to go to being considered for the first team because we have got a very good squad of players,” said the Bolton chief.

“I have just come from the B Team game [against Salford] and there is certainly progression and improvement, and that is credit to Matt [Craddock], Tuttey [Andrew Tutte] and Dave Gardiner.

“The work they are doing on the grass with them is certainly starting to pay off.

“This week it is an improvement and another step forward, and that is what we want to see from these young players. Constant improvement and progression, and I think we are getting that.”

The Whites made it to the quarter-final stage of the Lancashire FA Senior Cup last season before suffering a 3-0 defeat against North West neighbours Burnley at the Eddie Davies Academy
