Burton boss Dino Maamria is expecting a tough test against Wanderers - but believes his side are ready for the challenge.

The Whites have lost just one home game in the league this season and are currently in the play-off places.

However, the Brewers enter the game in high spirits following a 1-0 win against Cheltenham thanks to Victor Adeboyejo’s strike 13 minutes from time.

Speaking after the Cheltenham game, Maamria said: “Teams playing against Burton Albion now know we are going to be in the game.

“Now we have to rest and recover and look forward to Tuesday night. Bolton had a good win (against Accrington) and it’s not an easy place to go, but we are ready for it.”

Burton could have won by a bigger margin against the Robins but Davis Keillor-Dunn had a penalty saved by Luke Southwood on the stroke of half time.

And Maamria, who succeeded Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in the hot seat, is confident they are heading in the right direction after a difficult start to the season.

He added: “There was only one team in it and we had over 60 per cent possession (against Cheltenham). We had 16 shots on goal and we hardly had a shot to save.

“The penalty in the first half was the least we deserved but then we missed it. But we showed resilience and came out second half and upped the game again.

“I was pleased with the clean sheet and it has been a good month so far for us. The players have been brilliant and they showed that again today.

“I didn’t enjoy our game against Morecambe last week as we didn’t really pass the ball, and that is not the type of football we are trying to play here.

“That was much better today and leading up to the penalty we made 26 passes. At half-time I just asked them to keep playing the same way but to up the tempo, and we did that.”

The Brewers are currently 21st in the table, having won just three league matches since the start of the campaign.

The points were shared when the sides met at the UniBol last season after Kieran Lee’s first-half strike was controversially chalked off.
