Wanderers’ FA Cup first-round tie against Barnsley on Saturday, November 5 will now kick-off at 2pm, the club has confirmed.

The change has been made to avoid a clash with the Champion of Champions snooker tournament, which is also taking place at the UniBol.

An official statement read: “The first-round tie will kick off at 2pm to avoid a clash with the second semi-final of the Cazoo Champion of Champions snooker tournament taking place in the Premier Suite at the University of Bolton Stadium from 31 October-6 November.

“Wanderers have a successful, long-term partnership with Matchroom Multi Sport Ltd and are happy to continue to work closely with Matchroom by moving the kick-off forward by an hour to accommodate the evening session of the snooker, which gets underway later that evening and is being screened live on ITV4.

“Wanderers would like to place on record our thanks to Barnsley FC for working with us to accommodate this request.”

Tickets for the fixture are now on sale from the ticket office and can also be purchased via the club website and phone lines on 01204 328888.

They are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, with seats initially available only in the lower bowl of the stadium.

The points were shared when the sides met in League One earlier this month following a goalless draw.

The sides also met at the UniBol in the opening round of the Carabao Cup last season, with Ian Evatt’s men winning on penalties following another goalless draw.

Josh Sheehan scored the winning spot kick that night after Joel Dixon had denied Devante Cole from 12 yards.
