WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

Heart in mouth moment after his kick at fresh air on the left ended with him down in a heap. Looked pinned in for the Burton goal but hit back with a fine assist.

GETHIN JONES…6.

Had been very solid up to the point he was beaten in the air by Hughes for the Burton goal. His discipline had helped get Bradley forward for most of the game.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

Needed to be at his best against a team who peppered the penalty area with set pieces – and the captain won more than his fair share in their air and on the ground.

JACK IREDALE…6.5 Defensively sound but also used the ball quite well and happily stepped up to support his wing-back Afolayan.

CONOR BRADLEY…7.5.

Without question Bolton’s most positive starting player. Looked full of energy in the first half and picked up again in the second half after the substitutions.

AARON MORLEY…6.

Sprayed some decent passes around in the opening half an hour but struggled at times to keep the tempo of his work high enough to rattle Burton.

GEORGE THOMASON…5.

Not positive enough on the ball, which is a real rarity for him. Couple of poor choices and one of those nights he’d probably rather forget.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…5.5.

Never really got into his stride. One sight of goal early but never really carried on from Accrington at the weekend.

KYLE DEMPSEY…5.5.

Like Thomason, just struggled to make any inroads into a Burton defence camped in its own penalty box.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…5.5.

Looked bright for the first half an hour and then ran out of steam and ideas. Caught on his heels when Bradley put one dangerous ball in during the second half.

DION CHARLES…5.

Not happening for him at the moment. No real sniff of goal and a few touches which didn’t come off. Really could use a change of fortune.

Subs: Lee 7.5, 65 (for Thomason) – Added a completely different dimension.

Sadlier 6, 65 (for Charles) – Looked to be positive on the ball.

Bodvarsson 73 (for Kachunga) – Calmest head in the stadium during injury time.

Bakayoko 73 (for Dempsey) – Been waiting for that goal for a long time.

Sheehan 73 (for Afolayan) – Showed midfield invention that had been lacking.

Not used: Williams, Johnston.

Burton Albion (4-2-3-1): Garratt; Brayford, Hughes, Mariappa, Hamer; Oshilaja, Taylor; Borthwick-Jackson, Onyango, Keilor-Dunn; Adeboyejo.

Subs: Powell 66 (for Keillor-Dunn), Not used: Sinisalo, Butcher, Smith, Thorpe, Lakin, Kamwa.

Referee: Sam Allison 5/10 – Failed to crack down on Burton’s time-wasting, which started early on and only got worse. Attendance: 16,172 (181).
