Wanderers fans will once again be offered discounted prices on their season tickets from February next year.

Chief executive Neil Hart has confirmed that the club will be following the same successful route that they took this season, with an early bird offer being launched well in advance of the summer.

Prices for 2023/24 have not yet been confirmed but after selling more than 13,000 tickets this time around, Wanderers are confident they will be able to strike the right price point again.

“It’s such a positive that we can plan ahead with his sort of thing,” he said. “We can sit down and consult with the board, our staff, the Supporters Trust, and we will be running a supporters’ survey towards Christmas as well – but the plan at the moment is to go out with season tickets in February, as we did this year with an early bird price point,” he told The Bolton News.

“We were delighted with season ticket sales for this season. We started with 13,000, so we put 2,500 new season ticket holders on there, which is phenomenal, we thank everyone who has come out to support the club. And you can see the difference in the gates we have had this year already.

“Last season we were around 16,500, so it is a real positive for us.”

This season’s ticket prices started from £13 per game for adults and £2.57 for juniors (Under-12s), and the average attendance at the University of Bolton Stadium so far has been 18,356 over the nine games so far.

The last time Wanderers managed to average more than 18,000 for an entire season was in the Championship during the 2012/13 campaign.

“I think the pricing structure has worked,” Hart said. “The cost of living has increased and we’re aware there are challenges out there in society so the early bird offer was out there, and that’s where most of the supporters picked up their tickets. But even afterwards we had frozen the prices compared with last year.

“The whole structure has hit the right notes.”

A half-season ticket is currently available which offers discounts for home games starting with the reorganised Derby County fixture, now being played on December 27.

Those prices start from £13.25 per game for adults and £2.07 for juniors and Hart is hopeful the club will be able to sell more than the 400 half-season tickets they managed last season as Ian Evatt’s side look to keep up their chase for a top six spot.

“Anyone who hasn’t already bought a season ticket will be able to benefit from the discount for the second half of the season,” he said. “We were pleased with how they went this season and whether people are buying them as Christmas presents, or they just weren’t in a position to get one in the summer, it would be good to see plenty of people on board for what we hope will be an exciting conclusion to the season.”

Hart has also confirmed that updated hospitality packages will be offered next season, with the club looking to boost the number of guests.

Some of the rooms traditionally used for corporate were taken up by the Nightingale Court which was set up in April 2021 to help clear the backlog of cases going to magistrates which built up during the Covid pandemic.

With the court now cleared, Wanderers have already expanded their operations once again – and will be looking to present even more choices in 2023/24.

“We will also be aligning hospitality with the season ticket sales and, for me, it is an area with a huge amount of potential growth,” he said.

“We can do more and at the moment the mean hospitality head count is around 400 but we have a lot more capacity.

“We are looking at the lounges and the suites, see what we can improve, speak to our guest and partners, and I think we have needed to move away from the sit-down meal and towards a trendier food offering, so that will evolve as well. It is a work in progress but it is another thing that will be released in early 2023.”
