Wanderers’ trip to Shrewsbury on Saturday, December 10 has been given an earlier kick-off time, the club has confirmed.

The fixture at the New Meadow was initially scheduled to kick-off at 3pm but will now begin at 12:30pm.

The change has been made to avoid a clash with the World Cup quarter-finals, one of which could potentially feature England.

Gareth Southgate's side kicked off the group stage with an emphatic 6-2 win against Iran this afternoon.

Bukayo Saka bagged a brace, with Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish also getting on the scoresheet.

England also have matches coming up against the United States and Wales in Group B as they aim to go one step further than the Euros, when they were beaten by Italy on penalties in the final.

The trip to Shrewsbury is not the first Bolton match this season to be moved due to a potential World Cup clash, with the upcoming home game against Bristol Rovers switching from Saturday, December 2 to Friday, December 1.

The Shrews are currently 16th in the League One table, having won six of their opening 19 fixtures since the start of the campaign.

Wanderers recorded a late 1-0 victory at New Meadow last season, with Dion Charles scoring a superb strike at the death.

The Whites also won the reverse fixture at the UniBol, with Antoni Sarcevic and Dapo Afolayan on target in a 2-1 victory.

Official supporter coaches will now leave the UniBol at 8:30am on the day of the game and tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders from 10am tomorrow.
