Wanderers’ B Team youngster Lamine Toure has joined Lancaster City on loan until January 3.

The 18-year-old has impressed for Matt Craddock’s side this season, scoring the winner in the recent 3-2 victory at Huddersfield, and will still be eligible to play for the B Team during his loan spell.

He also made his first-team debut against Salford City in the Carabao Cup opening round back in August alongside Nelson Khumbeni.

Speaking after the Salford game, Ian Evatt said: “I think it’s important we blood some young players.

“Those two have been impressing with the B Team and it will really inspire the B Team players to see some of their team members come on and affect the first team game.”

He added: “Credit to them – two good young men and two excellent young footballers, and hopefully there’s more where that came from.”

Toure has been with the Whites since Under-12 level and signed his first professional deal at the UniBol over the summer. He is also able to turn his hand as a centre-forward when necessary.

Speaking this summer, the youngster said: “I’m lucky I’ve had opportunities to play in both positions. It’s great scoring goals, that feeling is great, but I also have this thing where I love defending.”

Team-mate Max Conway also headed out on loan earlier today, joining National League North outfit Buxton.

Conor Carty and Connor Stanley also recently joined Gateshead and FC United of Manchester respectively. Meanwhile, Adam Senior is at Telford United and Arran Pettifer is nearby at Atherton Colls.

Lancaster are currently 16th in the Northern Premier League top flight, having taken 22 points from their opening 18 fixtures.

The Dolly Blues are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Ashton United to the Giant Axe (KO 3pm).
