WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

Came out confidently to punch away a couple of crosses but hardly tested by anything after he had fished the ball out of the back of the net 90 seconds in.

GETHIN JONES…6.

Some of his crossing was hit and miss but he did push on in support of Bradley and ensured the tempo stayed high enough in the second half.

EOIN TOAL…6.5.

Some big boots to fill after Santos was taken ill. Toal stepped up and really grew into the game after a couple of nervy moments early on.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…6.

Looked as though he was caught out of position a little for the Rovers goal but he defended really well after that, especially in the air.

CONOR BRADLEY…7.

Always positive on the ball and while some of his crossing didn’t hit the mark he was full of energy to the bitter end.

AARON MORLEY…7.

His radar was pretty accurate and nobody else on the pitch saw as much of the ball. Picked out the run of Bradley time and time again.

GEORGE THOMASON…6.

A few eye-catching passes, a cheap yellow card, then what looked like a nasty injury. Fingers crossed it is not as bad as first feared.

OWEN BECK…5.5.

Definite signs of early nerves for the Liverpool youngster but it is a good sign that he kept going and didn’t let himself get swamped.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…6.

Couldn’t quite find the stardust he had sprinkled at Fleetwood. Had five shots on goal – which is ample – but couldn’t make the breakthrough.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…5.5.

Missed a couple of big chances which really would have silenced the critics. Worked hard but it is another blank on the record.

JON DADI BODVARSSON…6.

Painful night for the Icelander who got his nose smashed and also wasted the kind of really good chance he would normally tuck away.

Subs: Williams 6.5, 36 (for Thomason) – Got straight into the rhythm of the game.

Charles 6.5, 54 (for Bodvarsson) – Won a point back for the goal.

Bakayoko 6.5, 63 (for Kachunga) – Looked bright. Encouraging.

Sadlier 72 (for Beck) – Again used as the wildcard. Added an edge.

Not used: Sheehan, Iredale, Lee.

Bristol Rovers (3-4-1-2): Belshaw; Thomas, Connolly, Gibson; Sinclair, Rossiter, Gibson, Clarke; Evans; Coburn, Collins.

Subs: Gibbons 68 (for Clarke) Not used: Jaakola, Kilgour, Marquis, Saunders, McCormick, Whelan.

Referee: Robert Lewis – 3/10. It was practically impossible to interpret some of his decisions in the second half. And it didn’t look like either side were particularly happy.
