WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD… 5.5.

A rare mis-step for the Manchester City man. Had been confident collecting crosses up to the latter stages but needed to be that bit stronger at the end. Live and learn.

GETHIN JONES… 6.

Good ball to Charles for the opening goal but the stand-in skipper started to waste the ball late in the game. He’s better than that.

EOIN TOAL… 5.5.

Shaky start for the second game running. There have been some bright signs but he will know the focus has to be better from the off.

GEORGE JOHNSTON… 6.

Got hit by an early challenge that should have been punished. His defensive work was sound but quite limited going forward.

CONOR BRADLEY… 6.

Worked as hard as ever and got into some decent positions on the right flank. Never quite got the better of gritty pair Shipley and Flanagan.

JOSH SHEEHAN… 6.

Had a really good patch after half time – maybe even the best since he returned from injury – but blotted his copybook in the latter stages.

MJ WILLIAMS… 6.

The game was tailor-made for his natural skill for breaking up play and winning second balls. In possession it wasn’t easy throughout the afternoon.

JACK IREDALE…6.5.

Quality ball to release Afolayan for the run which led to the penalty. The Australian defender looked in decent nick on his return to the team.

KIERAN LEE… 6.

For a spell in the second half it looked like he was about to win the game for Wanderers. But for some reason that stopped in the last 20 minutes and he couldn’t get on the ball.

DION CHARLES… 7.5.

Nine goals for the season sounds so much better. Finished the first well, got some luck on the penalty, but he probably deserves it.

DAPO AFOLAYAN… 7.5.

At his troublesome best for patches of the game and you can understand why fans were puzzled why he was brought off so late on.

Subs: Bodvarsson 82 (for Afolayan), Bakayoko 82 (for Charles).

Referee: Craig Hicks 5/10 – Should have got on top of the gamesmanship earlier on by showing a couple of yellow cards. His leniency made the game turn into a bit of a free-for-all in the second half.
