WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

A few flutters under the long throws and crosses chucked in during the first half. Played as an extra centre-back for the most part, seeing plenty of the ball.

EOIN TOAL…8.

Does what few Bolton players have done in the last couple of years and attack set pieces. Got his goal, put a few good crosses in too. Proving a real find.

WILL AIMSON…6.

Steadying influence at the back. Gave away a few daft free kicks in the second half, which played into Lincoln's hands, though.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…6.5.

Poleaxed in the first half – a challenge that might have earned a red on another night – but kept on ticking.

CONOR BRADLEY…6.

Didn’t get much space in the first half and thereafter looked to get the team going by cutting inside. After Lincoln went down to 10 men, that made things too congested.

AARON MORLEY…5.5.

One of the players culpable for Lincoln’s opener. Lost another runner later in the half for a headed chance. Took the shine off what he did with the ball.

MJ WILLIAMS…6.

Came into the game more in the second half and helped to give Wanderers a proper foothold.

KIERAN SADLIER…5.5.

Big chance for him to show he is worth a regular start and though he linked up with Dempsey early on, Wanderers could not get him into the game enough in the second half.

KYLE DEMPSEY…5.

Should have been his type of evening but Dempsey spent most of the night on the periphery.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…6.

Looked eager to try and make things happen, dropping deeper and looking for the ball, but didn’t really affect the game until the second half.

DION CHARLES…5.

Struggled to get hold of the ball and give his side a proper platform.

Subs: Bakayoko 5, 68 (for Charles) – Missed a big chance.

Kachunga 5, 68 (for Williams) – Ball dropped to him at one point but he couldn’t connect.

Bodvarsson 76 (for Dempsey), Lee 81 (for Sadlier).

Not used: Hutchinson, Iredale, Beck.

Lincoln City (4-3-3): Rushworth; Eyoma, O’Connor, Walsh; Poole, Sorensen, Virtue, Roughan; Mandriou, House, Diamond.

Subs: Robson 74 (for Mandriou), Hopper 82 (for House) Not used: Jackson, Sanders, Vernam, Hopper, Bishop, Wright.

Referee: Geoff Eltringham – 5/10: Experienced ref who let the game get away from him for patches in both halves. The red card for Walsh was arguably not the most obvious.

Attendance: 9,047.
