Wanderers will be looking to sign TWO strikers in the final six days of the January transfer window.

Ian Evatt has confirmed his plans after Southampton loanee Dan Nlundulu was ruled out for at least a fortnight with a minor hamstring strain.

Last night’s embarrassing refereeing mix-up, which saw Dion Charles sent off instead of Elias Kachunga, is almost certainly going to result in the three-game ban being transferred by the Football Association.

And in the short term that means Charles could be the only out-and-out striker available to Wanderers for this weekend’s game against Charlton Athletic.

Representatives of Burton Albion striker Victor Adeboyejo are understood to have been present at the University of Bolton Stadium yesterday, with Wanderers matching a previous offer from Championship side Wigan Athletic which met the buyout clause in his contract.

Millwall have also been linked with the former Barnsley front man, who has scored 13 times this season.

Evatt said he and recruitment chief Chris Markham were in for a “busy week” later outlining exactly what he wanted to add to his squad before next Tuesday’s deadline.

“Yeah, they are both centre-forwards, and you probably won’t need a rocket scientist to need that – I’m unlikely to go and sign a centre-back,” he said.

“We need some extra bodies in up front, there is no doubt about that.”

Nlundulu has made two appearances since ending a loan spell with Cheltenham Town and switching to the UniBol, making his full debut at Derby County on Saturday.

Evatt says the club is thankful that the injury was picked up in its early stage.

“He is injured, has a slight hamstring strain, so it will probably be two to three weeks,” he said.

“It isn’t ideal, I just think that it was going from what he has been doing to jumping into a really intense environment and the way we play can sometimes trigger reactions.

“Fortunately for us we have caught it soon enough but it will still be a couple of weeks.”
