Wanderers make the trip to the capital this weekend to take on Dean Holden’s in-form Charlton side in front of the TV cameras.

Ian Evatt’s men enter the game on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win against Forest Green, despite playing more than an hour with 10 men after Dion Charles was shown a bizarre red card.

The Whites have lost just one of their last 10 matches in all competitions and currently sit fifth in the League One table.

Team news

Dion Charles is available after his suspension was overturned by the FA following a bizarre sending off in midweek.

Elias Kachunga will now miss the fixture and is also unavailable for the upcoming matches against Cheltenham and Peterborough.

Wanderers hope to have MJ Williams available for the weekend despite picking up a knock against Forest Green.

As for the hosts, full-back Matt Penney could make his debut after joining on loan from Ipswich for the remainder of the season.

Opposition lowdown

Former Bolton defender Holden took charge at the Valley last month, succeeding Ben Garner in the hot seat.

The Addicks have won their last three league matches and currently sit 15th in the table on 34 points.

Holden’s side beat Barnsley 2-0 in their last outing, with Tyreece Campbell and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi getting on the scoresheet either side at half time. They were due to face Peterborough at the weekend but that fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Charlton 94 times in their history, with a record of 45 wins, 20 draws and 29 defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-1 winners when the sides met at the UniBol back in September thanks to goals from Conor Bradley, Kieran Lee and George Johnston.

The Whites’ recorded a memorable 4-1 victory on their last trip to the Valley, with Lee bagging a brace that day.
