WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…7.5.

Will probably say he expected to make the saves he did. But this is just what we come to expect. Played the crowd like a fiddle and scared the bejeezus out of some pigeons.

EOIN TOAL…7.

Came up against some really mobile front men in Blackett-Taylor and Rak-Sakyi but showed some good composure at times to limit their effectiveness.

RICARDO SANTOS…8. MOM

Good to have Santos back in this sort of imperious form. Right on top of the Bonne from first minute to the last.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…6.5.

Subbed at half time with an ankle injury which – hopefully – will not be a serious one. Quite comfortable in the first half, all things considered.

CONOR BRADLEY…7.

Involved in most of Wanderers good work in the first half and, with a touch more composure, might have been on the scoresheet himself.

KYLE DEMPSEY…7.

After Tuesday night’s marathon effort, you wondered what he had left in the tank. Turned out quite a lot. Showed awareness to create the second goal.

AARON MORLEY…7.5.

A quite stunning free kick to start things off and yet more evidence that Morley is grasping the defensive side of the game and becoming a more complete player.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Considering his stronger side is his right, Jones did well to get forward and link up as effectively as he did in the first half. Strong in the air when Wanderers looked to switch.

KIERAN LEE…8.

Some wonderful work around the penalty box. With Dempsey and Shoretire buzzing around him, genuinely looks to be enjoying knitting things together.

SHOLA SHORETIRE…7.5.

Wanderers look to have signed some player in the 18-year-old Manchester United playmaker, and you only hope his back issue is not a serious one.

DION CHARLES…8.

Had chances to score more than just the one – but the really impressive thing about Charles is that he keeps ticking. That machine-like quality will get him to 20 goals this season.

Subs: John 7, 45 (for Johnston) – Rumours of his demise are premature. Most encouraging performance for some time.

Adeboyejo 6.5, 56 (for Shoretire) – Had two chances to score on debut but looks strong, quick and something different for the front line.

Jerome 80 (for Charles) – Looked solid. Doesn’t waste the ball, either.

Sheehan 82 (for Lee) – Helped see the game out.

Not used: Dixon, Isgrove, R Williams.

Charlton (4-3-3): Maynard-Brewer; Clare, Inniss, Ness, Penney; Morgan, Dobson, Fraser; Rak-Sakyi, Bonne, Blackett-Taylor.

Subs: Campbell 67 (for Blackett-Taylor), Leaburn 75 (for Clare), Payne 88 (for Morgan), Henry 88 (for Dobson).

Not used: Sessegnon, O’Connell, Harness.

Attendance: 14,558.

Referee: Carl Brook 7/10 – Should he have awarded a penalty for a foul against Lee? Probably. But there wasn’t a great deal else to discuss in what was a solid afternoon for the officials.
