Cheltenham boss Wade Elliott is hoping to bolster his squad ahead of Saturday’s clash with Wanderers.

The Robins currently find themselves 18th in the table, having failed to win any of their last five league matches.

And Elliott is keen to “freshen things up” ahead of their upcoming trip to the University of Bolton Stadium.

When asked about potential business, the 44-year-old told Gloucestershire Live: “One or two, it won't be masses, but I don't think we need masses.

“It'll be nice to have one or two to change the dynamic a little bit and give everyone a bit of a lift and freshen things up.

“We had a big churn in the summer, so fortunately we in a position now where we don't need to do masses.”

He added: “If we went to Bolton with the squad we've got now, I'd be satisfied. If we go there with one or two more I'll be delighted.”

Cheltenham were held to a goalless draw against Port Vale at the weekend, failing to carve out many chances in the final third.

“It was a little bit of a nervous performance, a little bit tentative, especially the first half,” said Elliott.

“We got better and stronger as it went on and for the last minutes, we were on top and could have won it. But it was a little bit nervy, which I get and understand.

“They are an honest group, they are desperate to do well and they feel the weight of expectation sometimes. That was reflected at times in the performance, which was a little bit tentative.

“But in fairness, we have said to them that if you can't win, don't lose and we have fallen just the wrong side of a lot of games, especially recently when it's been one goal here or there.

“In a way it's a sign of progress, and we'll take the point because the other thing you have to bear in mind is that they have gone to some tough places recently - Derby and Plymouth - and won. We'll respect the point and move on.”
