B Team boss Matt Craddock is delighted with the progress shown by Conor Carty since joining Wanderers’ ranks.

Carty has impressed in the Central League this season and also scored on his first-team debut against Tranmere in the Papa Johns Trophy.

The former Wolves youngster has also spent time on loan in the National League with Oldham and Gateshead as he continues his development.

He impressed in the 2-2 draw against a strong Rochdale Reserves side last week, scoring the opener and also setting up Matt Tweedley with a pinpoint pass.

Craddock told The Bolton News: “He has done really well. Obviously, he has had a couple of loans where he has had to experience men’s football, which is something he didn’t get an opportunity to do at Wolves, so that was part of his development this year.

“Conor has got some real talent and potential, and what he has to do is develop that physical side to his game – pressing and showing real aggression and intensity when we haven’t got the ball.

“I think he showed that in real good periods (against Rochdale) and I am pleased that he got his goal and an assist for the second. It is well deserved.”

Adam Senior and Luke Hutchinson are also currently out on loan at Halifax Town and Bamber Bridge respectively.

Max Conway has also got a taste of men’s football at Buxton, and Craddock is pleased some of the younger talent have had the chance to learn in the non-league pyramid.

He added: “What we are trying to do is find the right challenge for the right player. For Seens, Luke and Max, at the moment that challenge is out away from the club in men’s football.

“That is a fantastic opportunity for them. They are getting some good minutes and they are getting opportunities to play a type of football that they are not used to. Fighting for places, fighting for points – that is really positive.

“Back here, it allows us to push our higher performers and higher potential players into opportunities like (against Rochdale).

“When you look at the teamsheet, we had two scholars playing and we had four on the bench. They are really good opportunities for them to enhance their development.”
