WANDERERS 3-4-1-2.

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

Eight straight clean sheets at the UniBol but only the one serious save to make, from Sercombe. Tried to keep the tempo up with his distribution at the back.

EOIN TOAL…6.

Worked hard on the right but looked to be finding the surface tricky at times. Came up with an important block at the end to deny May.

RICARDO SANTOS…6.5.

A fairly comfortable afternoon. Defended well when he needed to, one on one, and was tidy in possession too.

GETHIN JONES…6.5.

Had a sticky start with a few wayward passes but really grew into the game, picking out Charles and Dempsey with two quality balls from the back.

CONOR BRADLEY…7.

His final ball needed work but he was the player who got in behind Cheltenham’s defenders most often. Will be frustrated at picking up his 10th booking for such a daft thing.

KYLE DEMPSEY…7. MOM.

Wanderers had been a little shot-shy around the penalty box until Dempsey came up with a cracker 10 minutes before the end. Could be a vital goal in the grand scheme, too.

AARON MORLEY…6.

Wasn’t the kind of open game in which he usually thrives, so reduced to passing and probing around the penalty box. Two free kicks in his sort of range went awry too.

DECLAN JOHN…6.

Solid return for the Welshman, who hadn’t started a league game since October. Looked jaded as the second half wore on, which was only to be expected.

SHOLA SHORETIRE…5.5.

Won’t have played in many games like that before – so put this one down to a learning experience. Worked hard off the ball, which was good to see.

VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6.

Not the type of game he would have wanted to make his full debut as there was practically no space behind the Cheltenham defence. Put himself around, though.

DION CHARLES…6.

Ran and hassled in the way we have come to expect. Had a few decent chances where a touch more composure was needed.

Subs: Lee 6, 66 (for Shoretire) – Added a few nice touches towards the end.

Jerome 66 (for Adeboyejo) – He’d warned that Bolton had to be patient. Wise fella!

Sheehan 85 (for Dempsey).

Not used: Dixon, Isgrove, Mbete, Khumbeni.

Cheltenham (3-4-1-2): Southwood; Long, Taylor, Raglan; Jackson, Bonds, Perry, B Williams; Broom; Goodwin, May.

Subs: Norton 70 (for Goodwin), Sercombe 70 (for Perry), Olayinka 75 (for B Williams), Keena 82 (for Raglan).

Not used: Brown, Baggott, MacDonald.

Referee: Sunny Singh Gill – 5/10. Let Cheltenham get away with the timewasting for far too long and should have cracked down on it in the first half. Should Bradley have risked the yellow card by throwing the ball back to Eoin Toal? Maybe not. But there is a big issue with inconsistency there.
