WANDERERS (3-4-1-2)

JAMES TRAFFORD…8.5.

Made things look so damn simple, when in fact he had to make a few key saves. Such a good temperament for games like this.

EOIN TOAL…8.

Had his hands full with the mobile Mason-Clark but defended well and, perhaps more importantly, stepped out confidently into midfield.

RICARDO SANTOS…9.

Couldn’t have written a better script had he been given a blank piece of paper and a pen. Won the battle with Clarke-Harris and grabbed himself a couple of goals.

LUKE MBETE…8.5.

Confident debut. Looked comfortable on the ball, mobile, and more than happy to link up with the players in front of him.

GETHIN JONES…8.5.

Produced the best cross of the game to give Charles his second goal on a plate. Like Toal, he had to work hard against some dangerous players.

KYLE DEMPSEY…8.

Helped execute the gameplan to the letter by regularly drifting out to the wide positions and creating overloads.

AARON MORLEY…8.5.

Set piece delivery was good, he got on the ball as much as anyone but did a lot of his work breaking play up on the edge of the box.

DECLAN JOHN…8.

A couple of classy runs going forward – but also some really solid defensive work too. Another step forward in this crazy campaign.

KIERAN LEE…8.

Probably did more work off the ball than he did on it, closing down the home defenders to great effect and forcing mistakes and turnovers.

DION CHARLES…9.

Two stone cold penalties and a poacher’s finish from close range. Can you really ask for any more? Oh, a boat load of hard graft too. Gave his markers kittens.

SHOLA SHORETIRE…9.

Evatt wanted him to find more space than he did against Cheltenham… and boy, did he pick Peterborough’s weak spots. They didn’t know how to handle him.

Subs: Adeboyejo 7, 63 (for Charles), Jerome 7, 63 (for Shoretire), Sheehan 78 (for Lee), Williams 79 (for John), Isgrove 79 (for Mbete).

Not used: Dixon, Khumbeni.

Peterborough United (4-2-3-1): Norris; Thompson, Edwards, Kent, Butler; Kyprianou, Taylor; Ward, Poku, Mason-Clark; Clarke-Harris.

Subs: Ogbeta 52 (for Butler), Tshimanga 67 (for Clarke-Harris), Knight 67 (for Thompson), Thompson 75 (for Taylor), Jones 75 (for Poku).

Not used: Blackmore, Burrows.

Attendance: 9,247

Referee: Lee Swabey 6/10 – Posh fans didn’t sound impressed. He got the first penalty call spot on and rightly picked out that Santos was not offside in the first goal. Second penalty looked a debatable one – but Bolton will take it.
