George Thomason is set to get some minutes under his belt for Wanderers’ B Team against Huddersfield this afternoon.

The midfielder has been out of action since dislocating his knee and tearing a ligament during the 1-1 draw against Bristol Rovers back in December.

Prior to the injury, Thomason had become a regular starter for the Whites thanks to a series of impressive performances in League One.

The 22-year-old has also put pen to paper over a new Bolton contract, which will keep him at the UniBol until 2025, since his last appearance.

Rather than heading down to Portsmouth with the rest of the first-team squad, he will now get the chance to build up his sharpness in the Central League as Matt Craddock’s side aim to bounce back from their recent 2-1 defeat against Preston North End.

The fixture takes place at the Eddie Davies Training Ground in Lostock, with kick-off scheduled for 1pm.

Supporters are welcome to attend free of charge but are asked to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before kick-off.

Wanderers are currently third in the table, having picked up 10 points from their eight match since the start of the campaign.

The young Whites are six points behind leaders Accrington and four points behind second-place Blackpool at this stage.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield have won just once in the Central League this term and find themselves in sixth place ahead of this afternoon’s fixture.

Craddock’s side ran out 3-1 winners when the sides met earlier in the season, with Lamine Toure heading home a late winner. Lynford Sackey and Arran Pettifer were also on target that day.
