Bolton Wanderers fans from Latin America are set to see their side for the first time in person at the highly anticipated Papa Johns Trophy final.

Matias Foti, Nicolas Alvarez and Federico Di Rocco have been watching the Whites from 7,000 miles away via iFollow for the last seven years.

They have set up an official Latin American BWFC Supporters Club, affiliated with the BWFC Supporters Trust, and are now ready to make their first trip to these shores to cheer on their beloved club agaisnt League One leaders Plymouth Argyle when the two sides meet at Wembley on Sunday, April 2.

Matias said: “We haven't got the words to explain how we feel.

“This is a big dream for us, maybe one of best travel of our lives.

“We never go out of our country so the first time outside and it's the UK, only our love for Bolton Wanderers can make us do it.

The Bolton News:

“We have been dreaming about this moment for eight years and it’s even more from Fede because he is a little older than Nico and I.”

The three friends will travel from Buenos Aires on Wednesday, March 29 to London in time for the final and will then travel to Bolton at the Whites Hotel for the rest of their stay.

They will also be attending the away fixture against Exeter City on Good Friday and Cambridge United at home on Easter Monday.

Matias said: “It was a lot of effort because the economic situation here in Argentina is awful.

“Every year was more difficult for us travel to Bolton but we could do it.

“We are looking forward to meet Bolton fans and give them a big hug because we feel like a Boltonian, we feel like we were born there.”

Matias, Nicolas and Federico will get a tour of the University of Bolton Stadium by Stephen James and are also planning a party at The Millstone pub in Bolton on Easter Sunday to meet fellow fans.

The Bolton News:

Originally, the friends were planning on being in Bolton in the middle of March but they postponed due to the international break.

Matias said: “Like it was destiny prepared for us, the airline changed one step of our trip and gave us a change of dates for free, so we chose two weeks in April.

“But we never imagined that we can get to the final of the Papa Johns Trophy, so it’s incredible and we’ll see you all at Wembley.”
