Bolton Wanderers open South Stand lower tier against Cambridge United

The decision was made with less than 200 tickets left in the home sections, with prices reduced as the club celebrates its latest ‘Family Day’ event.

Members of the Bolton squad are also set to bring the Papa Johns Trophy onto the pitch before kick-off following last weekend’s Wembley victory against Plymouth.

Wanderers have passed the 20,000-mark at home four times this season – against Sheffield Wednesday, Derby and Ipswich in the league as well as the Carabao Cup tie against Aston Villa.

The Whites currently have the fourth-highest attendance in the division, with Derby, Wednesday and Ipswich making up the top three.

Tickets are on sale online and in the club shop, which is open on Monday from 10am until kick-off. They are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors as Ian Evatt’s men aim to secure an important three points in the play-off race.

The points were shared when the sides met at the Abbey Stadium back in November, with Wanderers finishing with 10 men after Kyle Dempsey was shown a second yellow card.

Elias Kachunga and Gethin Jones both went close for the Whites, while Jack Lankester had an effort deflected narrowly wide at the other end.

The game was notable for being the first in EFL history to be officiated by four serving members of the Armed Forced.

The Whites’ last win in the fixture came at the UniBol in February 2022, with Amadou Bakayoko and Dapo Afolayan both getting on the scoresheet either side of half time.

Wanderers have a fairly strong record against the U’s, having won seven and lost just four of the 18 matches between the sides.
