WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.

Only had one routine save to make at the end, otherwise spending most of his time as an auxiliary sweeper outside his area.

GETHIN JONES…6.

Knibbs got behind him a couple of times in the first half but his defending was generally sound. Didn’t get much chance to make a dent further forward.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.

The pick of the defensive bunch again. Other than one slip at the bitter end he was very impressive, making some brave blocks. Excellent ball for John first half too.

LUKE MBETE…5.5.

Struggled a bit on the ball and made the crude challenge on the edge of the box which led to the equalising goal. Fatigue clearly a factor.

CONOR BRADLEY…6.5.

Couldn’t get any space in the first half. Improved after the break and his good work on the right led to the first goal.

GEORGE THOMASON…6.5.

Won back a lot of possession and while he might not have been able to punch a hole in Cambridge’s stubborn defence, he worked as hard as anyone to try.

JOSH SHEEHAN…6.5.

Wanted the ball, saw plenty of it and occasionally found the right ball. Cambridge did a good job of closing down the spaces and not allowing him to dictate play, though.

DECLAN JOHN…7.

Gave Wanderers reasonable width and should probably have created the opening goal early on. Scored his first of the season – and that should have been enough.

SHOLA SHORETIRE…5.5.

The early promise Shoretire had shown after his loan from Manchester United is giving way to frustration. There is clearly a good player in there – but he is too easily being hassled out of games.

CAMERON JEROME…6.

First start for Wanderers and you could see why Evatt felt he needed more physical presence up front. Did it work? Sadly not.

VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6.

Got into the game more than Jerome, more by dropping deeper to receive the ball. Wasn’t enough of a threat in front of goal, though.
