Wanderers are back on the road when they head to the Pirelli Stadium to take on Burton.

Ian Evatt’s men recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win at Oxford over the weekend, with Dion Charles getting the decisive goal after seven minutes.

The Whites are currently fifth in the League One table as they aim to finish the season strongly and secure a play-off spot.

Team news

Evatt has confirmed Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns following Saturday’s game but are still light in numbers.

Luke Mbete missed out against the U’s due to a knee problem and will be out of action until the end of the season.

The Manchester City loanee joins Ricardo Santos, Eoin Toal, Jack Iredale and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on the injury list.

MJ Williams played in the middle of the back three at the Kassam Stadium, with George Johnston returning to his natural role as a wide centre-back.

Opposition lowdown

Burton enter the game in high spirits following a 3-2 victory against promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. Burnley loanee Mark Helm bagged a brace against the Owls, with John Brayford also getting on the scoresheet.

The Brewers sit 16th in the table and have an eight-point cushion over the relegation zone at this stage.

Dino Maamria’s side have lost just one of their last five matches in the league and also beat Barnsley at home earlier this month.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Burton eight times in their history, with a record of one win, two draws and five defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 2-1 winners when the sides met back in October, with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scoring a dramatic winner in the eighth minute of stoppage time. Amadou Bakayoko was also on target against the Brewers that day.

The Whites were beaten 3-1 on their last trip to the Pirelli Stadium despite a late consolation from Charles.
