Wanderers’ busy League One schedule continues this weekend with a home fixture against Shrewsbury.

Ian Evatt’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at Burton in midweek despite Victor Adeboyejo’s third goal for the club.

The result saw the Whites maintain their place in the top six and they still have a game in hand on the sides around them.

Team news

Kieran Lee is back in contention after missing the last couple of matches with a long-standing hip problem.

Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal have both made progress with their respective recoveries, but Saturday’s game will likely come too soon for the defensive pair.

Meanwhile, Jack Iredale and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are both back training on grass following lengthy spells out of action.

As for the visitors, striker Ryan Bowman is back from suspension but defender Tom Flanagan is still unavailable.

Opposition lowdown

Shrewsbury were beaten 2-1 by leaders Plymouth on Tuesday night despite going ahead through Killian Phillips. Callum Wright scored a dramatic winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time for the Pilgrims.

Steve Cotterill’s side are now without a win in their last six league matches, having picked up just one point in that time.

Salop sit 12th in the table, only two points behind 10th-place Charlton heading into the business end of the campaign.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Shrewsbury 27 times in their history, with a record of 15 wins, four draws and eight defeats.

Evatt’s men suffered a 3-2 defeat at New Meadow earlier in the season, with Dion Charles bagging a brace that day.

The Whites ran out 2-1 winners when the sides last met at the UniBol in October 2021 thanks to goals from Antoni Sarcevic and Dapo Afolayan.
