The traditional end-of-season finale in local football takes place tomorrow night (Friday) as the Bolton Hospital Cup final is contested at the Neuven Stadium in Radcliffe, writes Ian Templeman.

The final features an all-North West Counties League clash, with Premier Division Prestwich Heys taking on Atherton LR from the First Division North.

Both clubs are previous winners of the competition, with Heys having last triumphed in 2016, while LR have won the trophy on four previous occasions, the last of those in 2011.

Prestwich Heys will start as favourites, after a solid league campaign saw them finish in seventh place in the North West Counties League Premier Division, and they booked their place in the final in impressive style on Monday night, with an emphatic 4-0 win against Pennington at Daisy Hill’s New Sirs ground.

Meanwhile, Atherton LR were made to work hard 24 hours later in the other semi-final at the CMB Sports Ground, where a second-half winner from captain Connor Ikin saw them through to a 2-1 victory over Bolton Lads and Girls Club in a closely-fought game.

Admission to the final is by ticket only, and they can be purchased in advance online.

Access to the online ticket office can be found by following the link from the Bolton Hospital Cup Twitter account @hospital_cup or via the link from the Radcliffe FC online ticket office at https://radcliffefc.ticketco.events/uk/en

Admission prices are £6 for adults and £3 for juniors and concessions, and there will also be a match programme on sale inside the ground.

Kick off is at 7.45pm, and if the sides are level after 90 minutes the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.
