Wanderers conclude their League One campaign with a trip to the Memorial Stadium to take on Bristol Rovers.

Ian Evatt’s men have already secured a play-off spot following last weekend’s 2-0 win against Fleetwood.

Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley are also guaranteed to finish in the top six, while Derby and Peterborough will battle it out for the remaining place.

Team news

Bolton skipper Ricardo Santos is set to return to the side after recovering from a thigh injury picked up during the 4-0 win against Plymouth at Wembley.

George Johnston, MJ Williams and Eoin Toal have all played in the middle of the back three in Santos’ absence.

Evatt also revealed that a couple of unnamed players will be rested due to minor knocks with the play-offs in mind.

Meanwhile, Jack Iredale and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could return to full training next week and could be risked at some stage during the play-offs.

As for the hosts, midfielder Luke McCormick is unavailable due to a dental problem that has kept him out of the past three matches.

Opposition lowdown

The Gas are set for a respectable mid-table finish following their promotion from League Two last summer.

Joey Barton’s side will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Shrewsbury and finish the campaign on a high.

But it is almost a month since their last league win – a 2-1 victory against Fleetwood at the Highbury Stadium.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Rovers 34 times in their history, with a record of 13 wins, 11 draws and 10 defeats.

The points were shared at the UniBol in December, with Dion Charles scoring a dramatic late equaliser after Josh Coburn had opened the scoring.

The Whites’ last win in the fixture came in October 2019, with Luke and Daryl Murphy both on target either side of half time.
