Owen Beck’s time at Wanderers ultimately didn’t go to plan – but the youngster will still be cheering the Whites on in the play-offs.
Beck arrived at the UniBol on loan from Liverpool in August and went on to make nine first-team appearances.
The full-back was recalled by his parent club in January and has been playing Under-21 football in Premier League 2 over the past few months.
He still keeps an eye on Wanderers’ results and has been impressed with Liverpool team-mate Conor Bradley’s form.
“Conor is flying to be fair to him, I’m buzzing for him and he has been superb,” Beck told the club website.
“I’ve been checking Bolton’s results. They are in the play-offs, so I’ll be keeping a look out and cheering them on and hopefully they can do well and get promotion.”
The Welsh youth international also had a loan spell at Portuguese club Famalicao before joining the Whites.
While he didn’t get as much time on the pitch as he would have hoped, Beck insists he still learned lots from the experiences.
“I knew going out on loan was going to be tough, but I wanted to go for that experience and to go into a senior environment,” he added.
“I obviously thought that I was going to get more game time than I did, but it was just one of those things that I just had to take as much as I could from it and learn as much as I could.
“I feel like I’ve come back a lot more experienced and I see them as both good experiences - Portugal and Bolton.
“There’s no point dwelling on it if it doesn’t go the way you want it to go and thinking negatively about it.
“I feel you need to just think positive and learn as much as you can from it, which I feel I did, and take the positives from it.”
