After another eventful season, Barnsley stand between Wanderers and a return to Wembley in the play-offs.

Ian Evatt’s men finished fifth in the League One table, ending the campaign with wins against Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers.

The Whites have lost just one of their last 10 matches in all competitions during the business end of the season.

Team news

Gethin Jones will play no part in the play-offs after suffering a hamstring tear at the Memorial Stadium.

The versatile defender was forced off during the first half after setting up Shola Shoretire’s opener against the Gas.

Evatt has no other injury concerns, with Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal both available for the highly anticipated fixture.

The visitors will make a late call on key man Mads Andersen, who has missed the last couple of games due to an adductor issue.

Devante Cole could be involved despite dealing with a minor knock, but Callum Styles will play no part after returning from his loan at Millwall.

Opposition lowdown

Barnsley finished fourth in the table as they aim to make an immediate return to the Championship under Michael Duff.

The Tykes were beaten 2-0 by Peterborough last time out after goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris and Jack Taylor either side of half time.

Duff’s men are now without a win in their last three matches, including back-to-back defeats at Oakwell.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Barnsley 45 times in their history, with a record of 17 wins, 15 draws and 13 defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-0 winners at Oakwell in January, with Dion Charles, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Kyle Dempsey all getting on the scoresheet.

But the Tykes came out on top at the UniBol in the FA Cup first round despite Bodvarsson’s late header.
