WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).

JAMES TRAFFORD… 8.5.

Came up with the goods, once again, when Wanderers most needed him. Has an elite mentality which will take him very far indeed.

EOIN TOAL…7.

Saw more of the ball than anyone else. Didn’t flap, won plenty of stuff in the air – and popped up with a couple of chances at the other end, too.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

Defensively, he was superb. On the ball he probably needed to progress play a little quicker – but he certainly wasn’t alone in that.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.

Had a couple of chances to be the hero but generally stayed solid and produced his customary array of blocks and clearances.

CONOR BRADLEY…7.5.

If you could bottle this lad’s spirit you’d make millions. Never stopped working for the team, and was Bolton’s chief threat for a good hour of the game.

AARON MORLEY…5.5.

Central midfield was a problematic area on the day for Wanderers, and they struggled to keep possession. Morley is much more reliable than he showed here.

JOSH SHEEHAN…5.5.

Almost marked out of the game by Barnsley, and not given a chance to drop off and get a hold of the ball. Looked a bit frustrated.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…7.

Not everything he did paid off – but he was Bolton’s best outlet for the last half and hour and showed some really classy touches when his team needed it most.

KYLE DEMPSEY…6.

Started the game well but drifted out of it quite quickly and had an unusually quiet afternoon, all in all. Wanderers need him firing again quickly.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…6.5.

Worked really hard, pressed well, but ultimately didn’t get into the areas that would threaten the Tyles. Didn’t touch the ball in the penalty box, in fact.

DION CHARLES…6.5.

Was in the right place at the right time to pounce on Harry Isted’s error for the equaliser and chased hard but was on the periphery of the game for the most part.

Subs: Lee 6, 65 (for Sheehan) – Got the team moving forward again.

Nlundulu 6, 65 (for Kachunga) – Could have been the match-winner.

Adeboyejo 78 (for Charles) – Didn’t get much of a sniff.

Not used – John, MJ Williams, Thomason, Jerome.

Barnsley (3-5-2): Isted; Thomas, Andersen, Kitching; J Williams, Phillips, Connell, Kane, Cadden; Tedic, Cole.

Subs: Norwood 82 (for Tedic), Watters 82 (for Cole).

Not used: Russell, Benson, Larkeche, Collins.

Attendance: 23.450.

Referee: Andrew Kitchen 6/10 – Definitely had a better second half than first, and there was a moment where his erratic decision-making looked like it was heading for the headlines. Didn’t really get a grip on Barnsley’s timewasting.
