Wanderers are only 90 minutes away from a return to Wembley in the League One play-off final.

But first they must overcome a tough test, heading to Oakwell to take on Barnsley in the semi-final second leg.

The scores are level after last weekend’s 1-1 draw at the UniBol, with Dion Charles cancelling out Nicky Cadden’s opener.

Team news

Ian Evatt has revealed that Wanderers will be without an unnamed duo, who both picked up knocks during the first leg.

Evatt also says he will not rush players back from injury unless they are in the right physical condition. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Jack Iredale are both long-term absenteed with ankle and knee issues respectively.

Gethin Jones remains sidelined after suffering a hamstring tear against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the regular season.

As for the hosts, skipper Mads Andersen was a doubt for the first leg with an adductor injury but managed to play the full 90 minutes, making an important block to deny Dan Nlundulu in the second half.

Opposition lowdown

Barnsley finished fourth in the table as they aim to make an immediate return to the Championship under Michael Duff.

The Yorkshire outfit have failed to win any of their last four matches, with their last victory coming against Oxford on April 22.

Duff’s side have lost back-to-back home fixtures against Ipswich and Peterborough, failing to score on both occasions.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Barnsley 46 times in their history, with a record of 17 wins, 16 draws and 13 defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-0 winners on their last trip to Oakwell in January, with Charles, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Kyle Dempsey all getting on the scoresheet.

The Tykes played most of the game with 10 men after Andersen was given his marching orders for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
