Wanderers will learn their opponents in the first round of this season’s Carabao Cup tomorrow (Thursday).

Ian Evatt’s men overcame Salford in the opening round last season following an emphatic 5-1 victory thanks to goals from Elias Kachunga, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Kieran Sadlier, Conor Bradley and Dapo Afolayan.

The Whites were knocked out at the following stage by Premier League side Aston Villa despite taking the lead through Dion Charles.

The first-round draw is scheduled to take place at 2:30pm on Thursday and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The competition is regionalised at this stage, with Wanderers placed in the northern section along with 37 other clubs.

The full League One fixture list will also be revealed at 9am on Thursday morning as Evatt's men aim to build on their fifth-place finish.

Meanwhile, the EFL Trophy draw will take place on 11:30am, again on Sky Sports, to fill the remaining group spots.

The Whites have already been drawn against Salford and Stockport in Group E and will also face one of the eight Under-21 sides in the northern section.

All Carabao Cup first-round ties are scheduled to be played on the week commencing Monday, August 7.
