LEGENDS will be out in force this afternoon for the Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group's annual charity game.

Sam Allardyce and Peter Reid will take charge of two teams doing battle from 3pm at Atherton Colls’ Skuna Stadium.

Famous faces like Stelios, Nicky Hunt, Ricardo Gardner, Abdoulaye Faye, Chris Eagles and Alex Baptiste are confirmed to play – with some special cameos from ex-Bolton players from the eighties, nineties and noughties.

The fun day begins at noon with plenty of bars and stalls to keep people entertained, along with live music, funfair rides and a wrestling show put on by a local promotion.

Tickets can be purchased on the day priced at £5 for adults and 50p for under-16s.

Among the other players signed up are Neil Fisher, Jeff Chandler, Toby Brittan (Sharon's son), Gary Henshaw, Hasney Aljorfree, Liam Dickinson, Mark Patterson, David Thompson, Joe Bunney, and boxer Alex Murphy.

Former Burnden Park striker John Thomas will be a special guest along with Lionesses star Ella Toone and Republic of Ireland international Megan Campbell.

The aim of the event is to raise funds for a number of good causes in the local community including Bolton Hospice, Pheniks and the Bolton Wanderers Ex-Player Association.

“We hope that we can sell out and get the crowd going,” said Kelby Makin, who has been working tirelessly to make the occasion possible.

“Hopefully, we will be celebrating a promotion and everyone can have a bit of a party!”
