Wanderers’ pre-season friendly against Curzon Ashton on Tuesday night will now kick-off at 7.45pm.

The fixture was initially scheduled to kick-off at 7pm but the Whites confirmed the new time on their official Twitter page.

Ian Evatt’s men returned to action with a 1-0 win against Bamber Bridge over the weekend. Randell Williams got the decisive goal 10 minutes from time.

New signings Nathan Baxter, Joel Coleman, Josh Dacres-Cogle and Will Forrester all got a run-out at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

However, the occasion was marred by an injury to George Johnston, who left the stadium wearing a leg brace.

After the game, Evatt admitted they were “fearing the worst” over the defender’s condition with the new season just a few weeks away.

Wanderers continue their pre-season schedule with a trip to the Tameside Stadium. Curzon Ashton side finished 13th in the National League North table last season.

Tuesday night’s game is pay on the day and tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Under-16s can attend the game for free if they are accompanied by a paying adult.

The Whites also have friendlies against Chester and Salford coming up before returning to the Toughsheet Community Stadium to take on Everton and West Brom.

Evatt’s men kick-off their League One campaign on Saturday, August 5 with a home fixture against Lincoln, who finished 11th last term under Mark Kennedy.
